Tala looked up as the silver sliver of a moon in the sky for a brief second before making another attempt at discerning her pack's trail in the freshly falling snows. 'Mother Moon, help me.' she silently begged as she sniffed trying to pick up the trail once more. Her body was nearly drained of all energy after traveling long hours in the hopes of catching up with the Aurora but the snowfall began to cover the trail and the wounded wolf was lost in the mountains with no sure way on knowing if she was going in the right direction. She had been so close she could feel it, now there was nothing. All she could pick up was another pack. More than likely it was the scent of the pack to whom this territory belonged. Howling was out of the question as she was an intruder in their territory and would rather pass by unnoticed as the gash on her left hind leg was open and bleeding again leaving a trail of crimson behind the snowy wolf as she limped onward.

Something is not right in my lands. The king thought as he scanned the edges of his land, looking for signs of other wolven beings. He could smell the warm saltyness of blood, intertwined with the cold tingle of the ice on his nose. He followed the smell for a moment before seeing it, as a wolf's eyes aren't as good as his nose. Shadow followed it, trotting, for awhile before seeing the female of his kind. She was as white as the snow, quite the oppisite of his almost black pelt. He paused to think then let out a soft whine. Holding his tail high, he called her to him. Traspasser, why are you here? Have you lost your way? Or Lost your wits? he wasn't being mean, he was being Shadow.

Tala's ears perked up at the whine, she did not recognize it as one from any of her packmates. She turned standing on all fours trying not to show weakness to the other wolf. The cold of the snow beginning to numb the pain. The stance of the black colored wolf suggested athority, and the scar spoke of hard earned victory. Her best bet was to not cross him, Alpha's were not one for a lone injured wolf to tangle with. Perhaps if she were at full strength she could have but it would not be a good idea either. She instead showed respect and replied. The Aurora Pack, I seek my pack. The snows have covered up their trail.

No pack has crossed this way. Not under my watchful eye. Plus what good would an injured member, who couldn't keep up, do them? I don't mean harsh words, but you are no use to them as long as you are hurt. Are you sure you haven't lost them and gotten turned the wrong way in a snow storm? His golden eyes didn't show emotion, as the male wasn't sure how to handle the situation. Why would a pack leave a member, why wouldn't they slow if she was hurt? He panted softly. What is your name? his breath seemed to spell out the words as frost when he spoke. She can't travel for long on a bad leg. Either way, she won't catch up to them. Unless she knows were they are going..He mused over what to do next, ever unsure of the future.

Tala felt slightly insulted. I may be hurt but my teeth are still sharp. The pack had to keep moving, a two legs was coming. They didn't have a choice. Though she was defending them, she was deluding herself. They left her for dead otherwise there would have been a clearer trail for her to follow. He had made a solid point as long as she had that bad leg, she was no good to her pack or any other pack. She gave him a questioning look as he had asked for her name. Tala, I am Tala

Shadow looked at Tala for a moment then chimed softly Tala, you may stay here until you heal. Then you can leave when you wish, you will always be welcome here. He bowed his ebon head and flicked his tail slightly. Do as you wish, Tala. He began to trotted off, snow covering his trail. Oh, yes, I am Midnight's Shadow. I am the Alpha of the Moon Pack. We reside on the mountain over there. He turned his head in that direction, and trotted away.

'Midnight's Shadow, hmm. He seems to have a gruff manner yet there is kindness, or it could be pity.' Tala thought as she limped ahead a little bit. Her leg was killing her, She had to stop searching and recover before she got herself killed. So far she had been very lucky. Making her way to the caves she cast her gaze skyward once more. 'Mother Moon provides.'

The gray-black tail flicked in amusement as the male trotted away. He panted trying to warm his large lungs and heart. Shadow was going to lay in the warm caverns inwhich his packs reside. He shook his shoulders, as if they were covered in layers of snow, and continued on. He knew she was following and needed to tell the rest of the pack about her before she reached them. They didn't like newcomers, not unless the king told them too. He turned to see her limping behind him, all seemed well so far.

Tala stayed behind him, far enough to keep him in sight but not so far as to not fall behind. In the Aurora Pack nobody was allowed to pass an alpha unless ordered to. She would have to know what was permissable and what was not in order to not overstay her welcome any more than she already was.
